First of all, it depends on the type of TPE. For general products, the higher the content of halogen, nitrogen and phosphorus, the better the flame retardancy. However, the evaluation of flame retardancy does not depend on the content of some element, but on whether it passes the fire rating tests such as UL94 and GB8624.
Tpe materials are classified into four grades, namely HB, V2, V1 and V0, of which HB is the lowest and V0 is the highest. The flammability UL94 grade is the most widely used TPE fire rating standard and is also commonly known as Huang Ka in UL industry. It is used to evaluate the extinguishing ability of materials after being ignited. There are various evaluation methods according to the burning speed, burning time, dripping resistance and whether dripping beads burn. V0 class fire protection, little dripping, normal wire gauge can pass ULVW-1 and other international safety regulations test.
