TPE is divided into two types, one is real and the other is fake. TPE is used as soft glue, while hard glue is mainly made of plastic, metal and cloth. For TPE-coated plastic, it is mainly TPE-coated PP material and TPE-coated ABS material. Engineering plastics include TPE-coated PC, TPE-coated PC/ABS and TPE-coated PA. TPE coated fabric is mainly used for luggage products. TPE coated metal materials are generally fake bags. False coated metal materials actually mean TPE coated metal materials.
The difference between TPE real package and fake package is that hard glue and soft glue are combined in different ways. The mechanism of real package is chemical compatible compounding, which is the combination of hard glue and soft glue under high temperature. The mechanism of false encapsulation is physical and mechanical compounding. Under the action of force, TPE and metal are embedded together, which is called insert injection molding.
TPE encapsulated metal materials usually adopt secondary injection molding process. Firstly, the metal parts are put into the mould, then TPE soft glue is injected into the metal, cooled and the product is obtained. The recommended temperature for TPE coated metal is 170-190 degrees. TPE replaces rubber injection molding and encapsulating metal. Whether it can be encapsulated depends on the encapsulation structure. The higher the hardness of TPE, the more favorable it will be for encapsulation with metal.
